We will NEVER sell or give your information to anyone else or add you to any mailing lists, even if you’ve written to us or placed an order.

Our commitment to privacy

We respect and value our customers’ privacy and security. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. The information we collect and how we use it:

In processing your order, we may require various forms of personal information from you, depending on the payment method you choose. We will never ask for more information than is necessary for the bank to verify your payment. If we have trouble processing your order, the contact information you provided is used to get in touch with you. We do not share that information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete your order.

As of 2020, we have enabled customers to add their birthday when signing up for a new account, or editing an existing account's information. This is entirely optional.

IP addresses are recorded for security purposes only during the checkout process.

On some pages, you can submit feedback or leave comments; we may ask you for some additional information so we can better address an issue, but you are never required to leave additional information, and we will never send you unsolicited emails. The only times you will get email from us are if you place an order, ask a question, or subscribe to our newsletter.< /p>

We use non-identifying and computer-generated information for statistical purposes only. This includes, among other things, domain, country, browser, platform, and pages visited. Most websites routinely do this, and we never share any of this information with anyone who is not directly involved with the maintenance of our website.

Your Rights to Your Information:

Newer privacy laws which have gone into effect such as the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), provide users with rights related to their personal information. Consistent with those laws, we at Sock Dream give you the choice of accessing, editing, or removing certain information, as well as choices about how we contact you. You may change or correct your user account information through your account settings. You can also request to permanently close your account and delete your personal information.  
  • Right to Access & Correct Personal Information: You can access personal information associated with your account by visiting your user account settings. You have the right to request that we rectify inaccurate information about you. By visiting your account settings, you can correct and change certain personal information associated with your account. You are always welcome to email us, as well.  
  • Right to Deletion: In certain circumstances, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal information, except information we are required to retain by law, regulation, or to protect the safety, security, and integrity of Sock Dreams.  
  • Right to Object: If we process your information based on our legitimate interests as explained above, or in the public interest, you can object to this processing in certain circumstances. In such cases, we will cease processing your information unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue processing or where it is needed for legal reasons. Where we use your personal data for direct marketing purposes, you can object using the unsubscribe link in such communications or changing your account email settings. 
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on consent, you can choose to withdraw your consent to our processing of your information using specific features provided to enable you to withdraw consent, like an email unsubscribe link or your account privacy preferences. This is without prejudice to your right to generally permanently close your account and delete your personal information. 
If you would like to manage, change, limit, or delete your personal information, you can do so via email. Alternatively, you can exercise any of the rights above by contacting us by submitting a message through our contact form. Once you contact us to exercise any of your rights, we will confirm receipt of your request.  
Limiting use of, or deleting, your personal information may impact features and uses that rely on that information. However, we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights, including otherwise denying you goods or services, providing you with a different level or quality of services, or charging you different prices or rates for services. Please note that we must verify your identity before we are able to process any revisions or deletions to your information. We retain the right to deny your request if we are unable to verify your identity. As a part of this process, government or other identification may be required. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. In order to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, you must provide a valid power of attorney, the requester’s valid government issued identification, and the authorized agent’s valid government issued identification, and we may verify the authenticity of the request directly with you. 

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data containing information about a user; that data is stored on the user’s hard drive. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. If your computer is set to not accept cookies, you will not be able to add more than one item to your cart.

Our commitment to data security

We proudly take every precaution to protect our customers’ privacy and security. When the checkout process asks you to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and CCV), that information is protected with SSL encryption software. While on a secure page (such as the checkout screens), the padlock icon on web browsers such as Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer appears locked, instead of unlocked/open as during normal internet use. All of our customers’ data is restricted within our offices; only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our financial manager or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The servers that store sensitive material are kept in a secure, locked environment.
