Shipping Information

Nov 15th 2024: Canada Post's operations have been halted in response to a nation-wide strike. We are offering UPS for Canada-bound orders only as an alternative courier for throughout the duration of the strike. UPS may charge brokerage fees upon delivery. Read about how you may be able to avoid these fees here.

Shipments in transit may be delayed, we recommend keeping an eye on your tracking for the most up to date information. Updates from Canada Post can be found here.

We ship orders in plain ivory envelopes that are made of 100% recycled plastic. Please do not cut the package open, or you may damage your new socks!

Domestic Shipping

Sock Insurance

Please consider purchasing insurance at checkout to insure that if your package goes missing in transit or is damaged we can reship the items or refund your payment! Does not cover stolen packages. Without insurance we cannot guarantee refunds or replacements.

Insurance cost is $3USD for domestic orders.

Please contact us at orders@sock-dreams.com to report your package missing. All domestic requests for reimbursement for lost parcels MUST be made within 60 days of the shipment date.

Please bear in mind that we can only reship or refund your order one time under this insurance policy. If your replacement package is also lost in transit, we will be unable to send a third shipment. 

Domestic Shipping Rates

Our domestic orders ship via U.S Postal Service.
Most packages ship within 24 hours except on weekends and holidays.
When placing your order online, you will be able to select a shipping option after entering your shipping information.

FREE Shipping: We offer free shipping for all orders placed online and shipped to U.S. addresses. Most orders will be shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. Delivery will be within 3-5 business days in most cases. Please allow up to 10 business days for delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, and remote areas without reliable postal service.

Signature Confirmation: Gladly added for $2USD. Please select this option if there is any risk of mail theft at your residence. Please note that this is NOT insurance and that anyone can sign for your package.

Priority Mail:
Price Calculated at checkout. Delivery time is typically within 2-4 business days, includes tracking and insurance. Please allow up to 7 business days for delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, and remote areas without reliable postal service.

Priority Mail Express: Price calculated at checkout. Guaranteed delivery within 1-4 business days of shipment (note that we do not ship orders on weekends). This option includes tracking and insurance. If you are in the U.S., and you absolutely, positively require your package within a week, we highly recommend that you upgrade to Priority Mail Express! 

These are estimated times that start from the day we ship the order, not the day you place it.

We ship in plain packages. The return address shows our company name as Sock Dreams. This can be changed by selecting the Discreet Shipping option at checkout, or by emailing us at orders@sock-dreams.com. No sensitive credit card information appears on our invoices.

US Military Mail

We ship to US Military Mail addresses with free shipping and at no extra charge.

During checkout, simply enter APO, FPO or DPO as your city, then select one of the six “Armed Forces” options in the drop-down menu for your state. The option you choose will depend on the location of the US Military Mail recipient and also the carrier route used for sorting the mail. Those options are:

AE (ZIPs 09xxx) for Armed Forces Europe, Canada, Middle East, and Africa

AP (ZIPs 96xxx ) for Armed Forces Pacific

AA (ZIPs 34xxx) for Armed Forces Americas

For example, if the last line of your address was “APO, AP 96351″ you would select “Armed Forces Pacific”. Please note that Signature Confirmation is not available for military mail.

US Military Mail delivery times vary greatly and are beyond our control. For non-US military, standard International Shipping information and rates apply.

Tracking

Once we have created a shipping label, orders are almost always shipped either the same day, or the next business day.

Sometimes USPS doesn't scan orders they've received for a few days, in which case it may take a couple of extra business days to begin to see tracking updates.

International Shipping

Package Insurance is not available for international shipments at this time.

International orders ship Monday through Friday, via USPS.

Please allow up to 60 business days (approximately 12 weeks) for delivery, as there are many factors which can delay international mail, chief among them being the Customs service of the destination country.

International Tracking

You can track your order using the link sent in your shipping confirmation email, or else by logging in to our website.

Once we have created a shipping label, orders are almost always shipped either the same day, or the next business day.

Orders sent via GlobalPost do not receive tracking updates until they have arrived at the distribution center in Los Angeles, before being sent on to their destination countries. This usually occurs within 3-5 business days.

In some rare cases, orders may not receive tracking updates until they've been received by the final mile carrier. These will typically begin to update within a couple weeks.

You may be able to get more information on international orders by entering your tracking number on parcelsapp.com.

For orders sent via USPS, please allow up to 48 hours from the time we send your tracking number to you until the tracking system updates and starts tracking your package.

International Shipping Rates

First-Class International: Delivery timeframes (not including customs processing) and tracking updates vary depending on the country.

International Priority: 9-22 days (not including Customs processing). Tracking updates vary greatly depending on the country.

5-7 business days (not including Customs processing). Tracking and insurance included. Frequency of tracking updates varies by country.

Customs Fees and Import Taxes

Your country may collect dues upon delivery. Either "Sock Dreams" or our DBA 'Indigo Shadows' names will be used for international shipments and if custom/import fees are owed this name may be listed on the invoice.

Currently, orders shipped to the UK are pre-collectively taxed 20% VAT tax. Orders shipped to Norway are pre-collectively taxed 25% VAT tax. These taxes are not included in our shipping fees. If you do not live in Norway or the UK, please contact your local post office or Customs department for more information on your country's import taxes. 

Remember, estimated shipping timeframes do not account for the time it takes for your package to get through Customs. It can sometimes take weeks for Customs to release a package. We cannot guarantee timely arrivals of international orders; order internationally at your own risk. We cannot control whether the national post of the destination country requires a signature for delivery.

Once the package gets to your country, Customs will analyze it, determine if there are duties due, and then pass it on to your national postal service.

Please ensure that any information customs offices may require (email address and/or phone number) are provided and correct. 

We are legally required to include a Customs form which includes the names and value of the merchandise being mailed.
It is against company policy to declare purchases as gifts or alter the declared value for a customer. We ship discreetly in plain packages, but we must declare our originating address for Customs clearance.  No sensitive credit card information appears on our invoices.

Excluded or Limited Countries

Due to delivery issues, we have removed the following countries from our check-out page*:
Brazil, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Philippines, Qatar, Romania, Guatemala, Mexico, South Africa, and Russia.
*To make arrangements for shipping to these countries, please contact us -- note that we may be unable to accommodate these requests due to increased order volume November - January.

As of August 2nd, 2024, the U.S. Postal Service has suspended shipping to the following regions:
Afghanistan, Belarus, Bhutan, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar, Niue, Russia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Turkmenistan, Yemen. There may also be delays to packages en route to Israel. Unless otherwise noted, service suspensions to a particular country do not affect delivery of military and diplomatic mail.

Due to the suspension of Ukrposhta air and office services, we must regretfully halt shipping to Ukraine until further notice.
