Orders
Can I cancel my order?
We completely get it, we change our minds too! Give us a call or send us an email with your order number ASAP, and if it hasn't already been shipped, we'll be happy to cancel it!
We do process and ship orders fairly quickly, but if your order has already left us we can still work on next steps together.
What size should I buy?
If you’re not quite sure which size is right for you, refer to our sizing guide page. Additionally, we test and measure all items and provide individualized Sizing Info and Care Instructions, which you can find located underneath the description for each of our products.
If you're still not sure, shoot us a product question!
Why was I charged for stickers?
We are happy to provide up to 2 free stickers with every order, but due to limitations in the way discounts overlap, there are some instances in which the free stickers discount won't apply at checkout.
If you reach out to let us know, we can retroactively refund the sticker costs! You can also add a note when viewing your shopping cart to request free stickers instead of adding them to your cart.
I received a damaged or defective item!
If you’ve received a damaged or defective item, please email us at orders@sock-dreams.com within two weeks of the delivery date to let us know about the issue, and we’ll take care of it right away. Please attach photos of the damage or defect, to help expedite the process!
I received a wrong item, or an item was missing from my order!
We do our best to check for accuracy before passing orders along to our shipping department. If you find that we’ve missed an item in your order or sent you the wrong item, please send us an email at orders@sock-dreams.com, and we’ll gladly ship the item to you ASAP, or give you store credit for another item.

How do I track my order?
Once your order has had a shipping label created, you will receive a shipping confirmation email, which includes a tracking link. You can also track it by logging into your Sock Dreams account, or on the Shop app!
Please note that for international orders, there are times when extra tracking details can be found using the Universal Parcel Tracking website.
When will my order be shipped?
We ship orders Monday – Friday via USPS, usually within 1-2 business days of the order date.
Please note that at times orders may be delayed due to holidays or sale events. Orders placed with Priority or Express shipping are prioritized in our shipping queue!
I didn’t receive a tracking email?
Please check your spam/junk folder to ensure that your inbox is not redirecting it by mistake. If you're unable to find it, you can also check your order status on your Sock Dreams account page.
I am having trouble tracking my international order, can you help?
Absolutely! Please contact us and we will look into it for you.
What is covered by Shipping Insurance?
Shipping insurance covers packages that go missing or are damaged in transit. If needed, we can reship the items or refund your payment. Insurance does not cover stolen or returned to sender packages. Without insurance we cannot guarantee refunds or replacements.
My shipment is lost or arrived damaged, what do I do?
Please contact us at orders@sock-dreams.com to report your package missing. All domestic requests for reimbursement for lost parcels MUST be made within 30 days of the shipment date.
Please bear in mind that we can only reship or refund your order one time under this insurance policy. If your replacement package is also lost in transit, we will be unable to send a third shipment.
Do you ship to US Military Mail addresses?
Yes, we do! During checkout, simply enter APO, FPO or DPO as your city, then select one of the three “Armed Forces” options in the drop-down menu for your state. The option you choose will depend on the location of the US Military Mail recipient and the carrier route used for sorting the mail. Those options are:
- AE (ZIPs 09xxx) for Armed Forces Europe, Canada, Middle East, and Africa
- AP (ZIPs 96xxx ) for Armed Forces Pacific
- AA (ZIPs 34xxx) for Armed Forces Americas
For example, if the last line of your address were “APO, AP 96351″ you would select “Armed Forces Pacific”. Please note that Signature Confirmation is not available for Military Mail.
US Military Mail delivery times vary greatly and are beyond our control. For non-US Military, standard International Shipping information and rates apply.
I got a shipping confirmation email, but the tracking hasn't updated for several days since the label was printed.
Currently we're seeing some issues with our international package tracking not receiving updates until the package is scanned in at the Los Angeles sorting facility. This sometimes makes it appear that orders aren't being shipped for a week or more after having their labels created.
We have found that the Universal Parcel Tracking website sometimes provides more details than the tracking provided by our carrier, including parcels entering the postal system.
Account
How do I make an account?
You can make an account by going to our accounts page and entering your email. You will then be sent a confirmation email, with a login code so that you can access your new account!
If you have already placed an order with us in the last few years, your account will be automatically populated with any order history associated with your account's email address!
Why can't I set a password for my account?
Our new customer accounts are password-free for better security. Each time you log in, you will be emailed a unique login code, so that there is no risk of passwords being leaked.
Why can't I change my account's email?
Because your ability to log in is tied to your email address, it is not possible to change your email in your account settings. However, if you need to make a change, we can help you with that! Just drop us a line!
Help! I have orders associated with two different emails!
If you've used multiple emails to order with us over the years, we can help you out by combining your order history under the email of your choosing. Just send us a note!
Where is my wishlist?
You can find your wishlist by clicking or tapping on the heart icon in the bottom right hand corner of our website!

Sizing
How does your sizing work?
One of the things we love to do is help folks find which socks will work best for them. That is why we put as much information as we can into the Sizing Tips section on each product page and try to do as much real-life testing as we can on the styles we carry. You may need to scroll a little to see it, depending on your screen size, but it’s there!
We try to keep the sizing on our products as up-to-date as possible.

How do I measure myself?

Why is there a size range provided in the Sizing Info?
If you see a shoe size range, such as US Shoe Size: Women’s 7–14, Men’s 5-12 in the Sizing Info, this indicates that the sock has been tested to comfortably fit folks within that range.
If you see a length range, such as length, heel to top: 28-31 in the Sizing Info, this indicates that there may be some socks that vary in length depending on either color or due to unavoidable batch variance (production). Please note that the length listed is for the unworn sock -- how high it goes on a person's leg can vary a lot depending on the size and shape of the leg.
What does ‘One Size’ mean?
One size means that there is only one size of that product. It does not mean "one size fits all". One Size is often the only option available to us from our suppliers. One Size can include items that are plus size.
We understand the confusion related to this phrase, and have made an effort to remove this wording from our site, in favor of clear measurements. However, you may still find it on some product packaging.
I ordered a Plus Size product, but it doesn't say it's Plus Size!
We assess all our thigh highs/over the knee, knee highs, tights, and leggings to see how well they stretch. Often our supplier provides only one size of a product, but through our testing we determine that a product fits into the Plus Size category.
For a product to qualify for listing in our Plus Size section, the following stretch requirements need to be met:
- Plus Size Thigh Highs: must stretch to at least 24 inches in the cuff and body of the sock.
- Plus Size Over the Knee (OTK socks): must stretch to at least 22 or 23 inches at the cuff.
- Plus Size Knee Highs: must stretch to at least 17 inches in the calf.
- Plus Size Tights & Leggings: must stretch at least 40 inches in the hip, and 35 inches at the waist.
Due to confusion regarding the "one size" label, we have made an effort to remove it from our site, in favor of clear measurements. However, you may still find it on some product packaging.
I’m looking for thigh highs or tights for [body type, weight, or pant size], what size should I get?
That’s a difficult question for us to answer accurately based on that information. It entirely depends on your body measurements, since everybody’s weight is distributed differently. At best we can make a guess, but that means there is a very good chance we are wrong with our recommendations, and we want to recommend products we know will fit you. So, we will always ask you for your body measurements to help you further.
What we need for thigh highs: Thigh circumference of where you want them to sit on your thighs, calf circumference, shoe size, and inseam (heel to crotch length)
What we need for tights/leggings: Waist, hip, and thigh circumference, as well as your inseam.
Once you have these measurements (see our guide on how to measure yourself), feel free to send in a product question, letting us know what you're looking for!
I have my measurements, will these thigh highs fit me?
Typically if your measurements are below or at the listed measurements provided, then the product more often than not is going to fit you. Our listings usually provide the max a product will stretch comfortably.
For example: The listing says the products stretches to 26 inches, but your thigh is 20 inches around. The product will not be too big on you, because the elastic helps keep the shape of the cuff.
Sometimes if you are at the top end of one of the listed sizes, if there is a larger size available we like to recommend going up a size.
Sock Dreams Brand Socks
What is the difference between "Extraordinary" and "Longer Extraordinary" thigh highs?
There is typically only one difference, and that is the length of the sock.
Extraordinary Thigh Highs are 24-inches in length and Extraordinarily Longer Thigh Highs are 28-31 inches in length.
These measurements are taken before the sock is put on a body, and the socks will fit each person’s unique body slightly differently.
What does "70-85% regenerated cotton/acrylic/polyester" mean?
This means we use recycled cotton remnants as the basis of our yarn, which can lead to some variation in the exact fiber blend, based on the cotton available.
The fiber content is 70-85% regenerated cotton/acrylic/polyester, and each color of yarn has a slightly different ratio of these fibers. Some products may have greater or lesser percentages of cotton depending on the colorway or yarn used.
While different colorways or batches of our socks may have slight variations in hand feel when new, we find that the regenerated cotton softens up considerably with washing and wear, meaning that these differences become less noticeable over time.
Is the Merino wool ethically sourced?
We use Responsible Wool Standard certified wool in our various Sock Dreams brand wool products, which is a voluntary standard that serves to prevent animal cruelty when harvesting wool from and providing for the sheep.
Responsible Wool Standard Objectives:
- Provide the industry with a tool to recognize the best practices of farmers.
- Ensure that wool comes from farms that have a progressive approach to managing their land, practice holistic respect for animal welfare of the sheep and respect the Five Freedoms of animal welfare.
- Ensure strong chain of custody for certified materials as they move through the supply chain.
Do you make all of the socks on your website?
We do not! We carry socks from many other suppliers, but you can find our unique creations under the Styles by Sock Dreams section of our menu!
Our longest running line of Sock Dreams socks is DreaM Stockings™, which are knitted on antique machines, for a funky, modern take on vintage legwear. While this collection includes plenty of wild stripes and super-long socks, it also includes some great basics, at some of the best prices you’ll find.
Our more contemporary line, Dreamer Socks™, boasts finished cuffs and great stretch for dreamers of a wide variety of sizes. A newer addition to the Sock Dreams family, these styles have quickly risen to become some of our most popular socks, due mostly to their fantastic fit!
We also make a variety of garters and accessories, also found under the Sock Dreams brand.
All of our Sock Dreams brand socks are made in the USA, at small, family run mills!
Returns

Do you offer free return shipping?
Unfortunately no, we are unable to provide both free shipping and pre-paid return labels for our customers without increasing the cost of our items.
Can I try on items and return them?
Typically the answer is yes. We understand that online shopping can be tricky and often you won’t know how an item will fit until you actually try it on.
We request that you return all packaging labels and materials along with the item(s) in new condition to be eligible for a refund upon their return.
Animal friends are not invited to participate in the return process, so please be sure that your returns are free of their furry contributions! Items that are returned damaged or in an unsuitable condition are not eligible for a refund
Non-returnable items:
- Items that have been washed or activity worn (beyond just trying them on)
- Intimate items (panties, thongs, and shorts) absolutely cannot be tried on and returned. We can’t accept returns of intimates unless the packaging and tags are exactly as intact as you received them. If you try ’em, you buy ’em!
- Clearance items (marked with either a * in the name of the item OR [Z] in the in the SKU. Example: Fancy Fish Crew* or [CRW]-[CF]-[FNCY]-[Z])
- Stickers and magnets
- Crafty Bundles
- Face masks
Can I return tights I ordered?
Yes, you can! To receive a refund, the tights must be returned unopened. If they are opened or were removed from their packaging they can only be returned for store credit.
BUT please don’t let that stop you from trying on the tights you order. If you are concerned about the sizing because the packaging is saying something different from what we say, please reach out us so we answer any concerns!
Wholesale/Bulk/Custom Socks
Do you have a wholesale program?
Yes! We offer wholesale on most of our Dreamer Socks and Dream Stockings products, but exclusions apply to any donation or collaboration socks.

Please note that because we are a small company, working with small mills, we are only able to work with a limited number of wholesale customers.
What is your wholesale policy?
- Applicable to most Dreamer Socks and Dream Stockings products (excluding any donation or collaboration items).
- Available for brick-in-mortar sales only, not offering wholesale of our items to be sold on an online store.
- The current minimum is $250 total, with a minimum of 6 pairs for each colorway of a style.
- Availability is, at times, limited on some items, so orders are subject to the approval of our brand managers – this step will become unnecessary once we have our new wholesale website up and running.
- Our usual wholesale season runs from January to October. Wholesale will be closed during November and December.
How do I place a wholesale order?
We are currently in the process of building a wholesale site, but in the meantime we take orders from approved wholesale customers via email.

Can I place a bulk order? Will I receive a discount if I order over *insert number here* pairs of socks?
If you are interested in a bulk purchase, the current minimum is 48 pairs of the same style/color. Bulk orders receive a 25% discount on the cost of the sock order. This discount does not apply to any shipping fees or packaging requests.
Important to note here: if you need the product by a certain date, please let us know as soon as possible as bulk orders can take some time to process if we don’t have the stock you are requesting on hand.
Bulk order requests are typically accepted from January to the end of October.
Do you make custom socks?
Please reach out to us directly via email at orders@sock-dreams.com with the details of your custom sock request and we will do our best to accommodate.
There are some design limitations at play, such as requesting socks longer than what we offer currently, or such as designs that our machines are not capable of producing.
Please note that producing custom socks can take quite a bit of lead time, so please be sure to contact us well ahead of any events or other deadlines you may have!
